feb 08 - workshop
I've been really bad in updating blog. Since our wedding season will start in April, we've been enjoying this break.. a lot..
I just returned from Jeff and Julia Woods workshop in Illinois. They have an awesome studio and I've learned a lot and can't wait to apply some of the new things I learned to my business.
I'm so glad to did this trip with Lisa from Red Gallery. I had so much fun, it really wouldn't be nearly as fun without her and I learned a lot about Lisa :) ha..
I met amazing photographers and really enjoyed hanging out with them a lot!! My jaw was so tired from laughing. Hope to stay in touch with everybody!!

I'm updating my website erlina.com to show my recent works, since what we had before has been more than a year old. However... there are some issues with the preview photo on gallery and stuff that it still show the old pictures. So, when you go under gallery, the preview on each link doesn't show the right photo. Once you click into any of them though, you're looking at the correct event.
I sent support ticket already to my web designer since I have no clue on how to fix this :) don't know when it will get fix, hopefully soon. For the next month, I will keep on changing and updating my site, I will let you know once everything is final. We're so excited and has been planning on updating it for a while. We feel that our style has evolve and change and grow.. and we hope to stay fresh and inspired.
Now, I need to get ready for rehearsal tonight and wedding tomorrow of Amanda and Jason. We're so excited about this wedding. I've heard about her planning and I'm sure it's going to be fabulous. I don't know how she prepare all that from NY.
Next week Hongjun and I will be in FL with my family. My mom and my brother's family will be spending sometime in Orlando to entertain the kids. I haven't seen his daugther at all and she's almost 6 now. I'm so excited to see them all.
So, I will be a little late posting Amanda and Jason's wedding. After I finish editing their photos then I'll try to work on my site again.

New Identity
This has been something that I have in mind for a while and it's very hard. I love my signature logo, A LOT. So, changing it is very hard and I've had it for 5 years now.
These past few years we've been trying to put together our branding, and we find that this signature logo is not that easy to use on all application. So, we got help from Young's friend, Megan Schofield who is an awesome graphic designer to create a new logo for us. I can't wait to show you everything that she designed for us. It's just awesome. We're still finishing the final details so when I have them all ready, I will definitely share them with you.

06.06.07 guestbook album
Just received this slick album that I designed for guestbook album. I love it so much!! It looks so nice with the metal cover and textured paper inside. If you have an engagement done with us, I can design this for you. Keep in mind that I need to have your engagement session done months before your wedding because this album takes about 2 months to have it made.

05.24.07 one day. two ways
I had a great time last week attending Nate and Susan's workshop in Atlanta. They are so down to earth, energetic and super talented photographers.
A day was way too short, but I learned so much and can't wait to try some cool technique from the workshop.

This is why I love what I do.
Yesterday was one of those days like 'whew, I wish I have 5 extra hours everyday.' The wedding season is here, and with new 'Lifestyle' portraiture launching, I have been busier than ever for last few days. Many people called in for more info on Lifestyle family portrait session and weddings. So, I'm really excited but overwhelmed with my schedule, too.
Last night, I was working on some of the family portrait session, few albums, updating websites and end up staying up late until 1:30 am. Before I went to sleep, I checked my email, and Katrina (my previous bride who moved to Hawaii), wrote me a nice note on how happy they are to have us capturing their wedding day.
"Oh Erlina, the portraits are beautiful! I had a moment to look at your lifestyle section and blog and they look great. We absolutely *love* our album, we couldn't have imagined it coming out any better. We get tears in our eyes every time we look through it. It was such a beautiful day, and you managed to capture every moment we treasure! I'm so happy to hear everything is going well for you.
Do you typically do any photo sessions with expecting mothers and newborns? I thought it would be really nice to keep you in mind for when we decide to have our first child.
Thank you so much for everything, Erlina, you have truly helped to make our memories precious.
