05.26.07 Lo Family
We've known the Lo's for a while now and they are the most sincere, kind, and true friends. It's so nice to see Reuben and Nellen with Rowen, their 6 months old baby. Rowen has beautiful features and I love his hair and his personality. He's such an easy going baby. Lovely!

05.24.07 one day. two ways
I had a great time last week attending Nate and Susan's workshop in Atlanta. They are so down to earth, energetic and super talented photographers.
A day was way too short, but I learned so much and can't wait to try some cool technique from the workshop.
Nate and Susan shooting each other.
My new friend Tracy. She's awesome and her work is amazing.
me!! by Tracy. Now... you must be wondering why we're all looking up!! ask Nate.
All of us by Susan.

05.24.07 pretty in pink
Does anyone know what kind of flower this is? Is it peony?
This pretty thing grow in my backyard!! For me it's amazing because there is no flower in our yard. We pretty much manage to kill them all. I think like 2 years ago I plant bulbs of dahlias and peonies. The Dahlias manage to grow but I never seen the peonies so I kind of forget about it.. especially since the Dahlia died, too.
So, we're so excited that this week this flowers blooms. They have a nice deep pink-purpleish color and smells good. Hongjun's babysitter, Afagh, gave us a bunch of flowers too from her backyard yesterday. and I think... with my little knowledge of flower, they are the same kind. This ones has a pretty pink color. So, nice to have flowers at home. They really helps my mood :)

05.23.07 tamijah
I went to photograph Tamijah today. He's such a handsome boy. I love his eyes and his curly hair. Tamijah has autism and his mom, Sabrina was the first one that respond to my offer to photograph child with Autism at no cost. My nephew also has autism and I hardly understand anything about it and he lives back home so I don't get a chance to see him much. Everytime someone ask me about what autism is, as much as I try to explain, most just don't understand. As a mom, I worry a lot whether or not my son may have autism, too. I know that it's very hard for the child and the family. My brother and my sister in law are so dedicated to find help for their son.. I'm so impressed with them.
I know how important a picture is and I want to help family that has autistic child to have nice photographs of their child and I think for most families, go to a portrait studio will not be an easy trip. If you know a family that has autistic child and live in Columbus area, please let them know that if they're interested, I will photograph their child at their house for free. I wouldn't be able to do many each month though, but I will try to fit them to my schedule. They can email me for more information.
Autism Speaks is a great organization. We need more research done to help cure autism. If you would like to learn more about it or to donate, please go to their website.

I found this cool website, in case you want to play a game. www.orisinal.com
Very calming looking sites with cute and for someone like me (who's lack of gaming skills) it's challenging. I think your kids would love it, too.

05.15.07
This is why I love what I do.
Yesterday was one of those days like 'whew, I wish I have 5 extra hours everyday.' The wedding season is here, and with new 'Lifestyle' portraiture launching, I have been busier than ever for last few days. Many people called in for more info on Lifestyle family portrait session and weddings. So, I'm really excited but overwhelmed with my schedule, too.
Last night, I was working on some of the family portrait session, few albums, updating websites and end up staying up late until 1:30 am. Before I went to sleep, I checked my email, and Katrina (my previous bride who moved to Hawaii), wrote me a nice note on how happy they are to have us capturing their wedding day.
"Oh Erlina, the portraits are beautiful! I had a moment to look at your lifestyle section and blog and they look great. We absolutely *love* our album, we couldn't have imagined it coming out any better. We get tears in our eyes every time we look through it. It was such a beautiful day, and you managed to capture every moment we treasure! I'm so happy to hear everything is going well for you.
Do you typically do any photo sessions with expecting mothers and newborns? I thought it would be really nice to keep you in mind for when we decide to have our first child.
Thank you so much for everything, Erlina, you have truly helped to make our memories precious.
Katrina"
This is why I LOVE wedding photography. I feel so connected not only with each bride and groom, but also their family before the wedding, during the wedding, and even after the wedding. Thanks Katrina! You just made my day!

05.12.07 Graves Family
Spending sometime with Heather, Paul and Pace again was so nice. We first met them last year, then we took their engagement photos last June, their wedding in December and family photos last weekend. Pace is so fun. We knew he is very energetic and he made the wedding so entertaining. We didn't know that he's an amazing collector. We can spend hours checking out all of the cool stuff he has.
I almost didn't recognize him last weekend. He looks like a teenager already. See the photos. Do kids grow this fast? I should spend more time with Hongjun... soon he wouldn't be a mommy boy anymore.
Check out Heather wedding gown. She definitely looks great in red. I think red is her favorite color, don't you think? and Paul is an awesome musician. You should visit his website He played on his wedding, too.
So, as you can see... this is one fun family.
Enjoy their slideshow! *music: Choad by Codename (woggmusic.com)

05.12.07 Miller Family
Photographing family is so much fun!! It's more relaxing and I just love to photograph children. It's so funny that I used to be afraid of them. Now that I have Hongjun I love to capture children's expression and the family. We had two family sessions last saturday. The first one was the Miller's. They are so calm and fun! I love how Kim and Courtney share stories, and how Bill and Will look so much alike. Check out their slideshow below. I will update soon with Graves' family.

04.28.07 Doug's family
Young knew Doug from work and he's SO funny. (check out his blog)
We photographed Doug and Sally's first son, Gregory, a couple of years ago. We're so excited when they contacted us to photograph their family again, this time with the new baby, Ann. Throughout the session I can't stop pinching Ann since she's so cute!! (I pinched very lightly, more like tapping)

They have to be one of our favorite couples. We had so much fun doing their engagement photos. We took some of them at Short North and some at their new house which they just purchase the day before.
Check this out, they have been moving the day before until late at night... and they still look this good.
